Throws Fest a success

Our first end of season attracted almost 100 competitors, and those who braved a very blustery day were rewarded with some excellent throwing. Among the highlights were Joshua Douglas of Southampton AC throwing an under 20 PB of 53.27m in the discus to consolidate his position as 3rd ranked in the UK, and Dan Cork (Newport Harriers) throwing 15.52m in the shot. Oxford’s throwers were on form too, with Lily Martin improving her under 15 discus PB by almost 4m with a throw of 32.02, moving her to 11th in the UK rankings. Annie Jonkers also threw a PB of 29.61m in javelin, and Jonathan Davies improved his discus PB to 28.53, almost a 2m improvement. Ben Jackson threw 25.07m in javelin, a big PB by over 3m.
