Wessex League 3 Swindon

Illness and injury meant the day begin with rejigs of both the U13 and U15 girl’s teams, the girls took it all in their stride and got down to business with smiles all round.

The U13 girls were once again in fine form. They dominated the field events with Lily Martin winning A string shot (G1), A string Discus with a PB of 24.51 (G1) and her first attempt at javelin saw her secure a B string victory, 20.97 (G3). Maisie Kavanagh won A string javelin with a whopping PB of 25.45 (G1). In Long Jump Annie Jonkers jumped a G2, 4.41m for 2nd place in the A string and Ellen Bruce’s 4.16m (G4) secured a B string victory.  B string shot was won by Olivia Jones (6.71 G4), who also jumped a PB of 1.25 (G4) in High Jump.

Team shuffles left Lily Brabbin agreeing to try her hand as the B string high jumper where she gained a joint 1st place. This came shortly after her and Payton had left the rest of the field standing in the 1200m, coming 1st  and 2nd in the combined A/B string race.

Lots of PB’s on the track led to a raft of 2nd places and a victory in the B string 800m. Notable times from Ellen Bruce 200m 28.8  (G2), 100m 14.1 (G3) and Annie J. 200m 30.3 (G4).  After digging deep the girls finally got their first victory in the relay.

Winning the match with almost 20 points more than their nearest rival was a team effort and other great times and PB’s were recorded by Maisee Simms, Charlotte Ashby, Ellen Walker-Smith, Payton Carter (who knew she would be should a good hurler!) and Georgia Healy.

After 3 matches they remain at the top of the U13G league table.

On a very hot day the boys and girls Quadkids teams were both on top form, with multiple personal bests being recorded. A great day again for our QK teams.
