Chiltern League races at Teardrop Lakes, Milton Keynes, 9th November 2019

Published: 11 November 2019

Following a good start to the season in the first Chiltern League match of 2019, Oxford were looking for a good set of results to keep them in the hunt for promotion back to Division 1 next season. In very cold, wet and muddy conditions the City performed brilliantly in all age groups, to hold on to first place in Division 2, ahead of local rivals Headington Road Runners. The Senior Men are currently first, and the Senior Women third after 2 rounds. Overall, including junior results, Oxford still lead the division.

First home for the senior men was Aaron Simpson in 12th place, followed by Nick Coupe in 21st place, Adam Bayliss in 24th, Chris Prince in 26th, Shun Watanabe in 28th, Mark Tankard in 37th, Vlad Kralik in 77th, John Exley 104th and Rob Wood 156th.

Drew Hogger was 18th in the under 17 mens race.

Peter Goodrich-Jones was 16th in the under 13 boys race, followed by Williams Potts (20) and Ben Straughan (35).

In the Senior Women’s race, Sarah Davies was 9th, followed by Jess McMorris (59), Popsie Wootten (63), Elisa Robbins (68), and Gwyneth Hueter (71).

Amy Shayler was 8th in the under 17 girls race, and in the under 13 girls rac Izzie Haines-Gray was 5th, followed by Payton Carter (12) and Evie Paton (37).Β

The next race in the Chiltern League is at Stopsley Common, Luton, on December 7th, and with promotion in our sights it is important that we continue to get as many athletes as possible to turn out.

Well done so far Oxford!
