How to join
Our membership team will help you to identify what type of membership is likely to meet your needs, and will help to place you or your child in an appropriate training group. They may also invite you to attend a taster training session at the track. After this you will either be invited to join, or placed on our waiting list while we wait for a suitable training place to become available.
Please do not simply turn up at the track and expect to be included in a training session.
If you were previously a member and your membership has lapsed, you will have to apply again and may have to go on a waiting list.
NB Completing this online form does not mean that you have become a member – at this stage you are enquiring about membership. All applications for membership must be made via this link. If you are unsure about what is involved in becoming a member, then please raise specific questions in your online application.
Both seniors and juniors are expected to be available to compete for the club if selected – see the sections on track and field, cross country, road running, QuadKids and SportsHall.
As places in our junior training groups are restricted, the following criteria will be applied in assessing your application for junior membership:
1. New and on-going membership is a commitment to represent Oxford City Athletic Club in competition, and athletes will make themselves available to compete if selected.
2. Junior Club Training Members whose participation in competition for which they have been selected falls below 75% in any one season may have their membership revoked.
3. Junior Club Training Members who miss four consecutive training sessions or whose attendance over any rolling three month period is less than 50% will be liable to have their membership revoked – unless valid and acceptable notice of such absences has been provided (eg due to prolonged injury or absence from the country).
4. Priority will be given to juniors on the waiting list whose parents/guardians are suitably qualified and willing to assist in the running of the club, particularly in an officiating or coaching role.
QuadKids – aged 8 to School Year 6.
If, after having read all the above, you are still interested in your child joining Quadkids, please complete this form.
U14 to U18
For these age groups please complete this form.
Seniors
This is for all athletes aged 18 to 80+. If you would like to enquire about joining please fill in this form.
Membership Billing, Renewals and Administration
We use a platform called Thrive4 (formerly known as LoveAdmin) to manage memberships. On being invited to join you will be asked to complete application forms on the Thrive4/JoinIn platform, and once you have provided the information we need, you will be able to set up a Direct Debit to pay for your membership on a monthly basis. Rolling membership can be commenced at any time of year, and discontinued at any time.
A Hardship Fund is available for members who may, for one reason or another, find it difficult to pay a membership fee regularly. In the case of hardship applications (in confidence) should be addressed to the club Chair.
Annual membership of England Athletics, which runs from 1st April, is included for all competing members of the Club. For the Club to register members with England Athletics we need to send them your relevant personal data to enable them to grant you access to their online portal (myAthletics). The data we pass on is as little as possible: name, date of birth, gender, address.
England Athletics will contact you to invite you to sign into and update your MyAthletics portal (which, amongst other things, allows you to set and amend your privacy settings). If you have any questions about the continuing privacy of your personal data when it is shared with England Athletics, please contact dataprotection@englandathletics.org.
