Oxford City AC Hanney 5

The 40th running of the Hanney 5 mile race will take place on Sunday 27th September 2026 at East Hanney.

Race information

The Hanney 5 is held over a fast and flat rural course, ideally suited for a 5 mile pb. It is a well marshalled and easy-to-follow single lap of five miles, finishing on the sports field behind the Hanney village hall (OX12 0JL)

The race starts at 11am. The start is adjacent to the village hall, where there is ample parking; refreshments and changing facilities are available inside the hall. Entries on the day are welcomed up to 10.30am, with no restriction on prizes.

This race is part of the Oxfordshire road race grand prix series

Entry Fee – £13.00 for affiliated/attached athletes, £15.00 for unaffiliated/unattached athletes.  Entries on the day – £2.00 extra.

There are trophies awarded to the first men and women:

The Stewart Horwood Memorial Trophy is awarded to the first male finisher

The Sheenagh Reynolds Trophy is awarded to the first female finisher

Competition Rules

Entrants must be aged 15 or over.

Headphones and other musical devices are not allowed and cannot be worn during the race.

Competitors must be medically fit and enter at their own risk. Organisers are in no way responsible for any injury incurred during, or as a result of, the event, or for loss or damage to any property left on the course or changing area.
