Inclusive Athletics

In January 2020 we launched our first ever fully inclusive athletics group, open to under 18s with physical and learning difficulties, and their siblings. Training once a week on Wednesday nights, the group aims to give young athletes confidence and skills on the track, while having fun and learning. Some of them may go on to competition.

We have been partnered by ACCESS SPORT, the charity which aims to put inclusion at the heart of community sport. They do this through working in cross-sector partnership with others at local, regional and national level. Their work focusses on tackling the barriers that face disabled young people and their families, girls and young women, young people from lower socio-economic groups, young people from minority ethnic communities and young people at risk of educational exclusion and crime.

We have also been supported by KEEN, an international non-profit movement based in Oxford who work with organisations across Oxford, aiding them in their efforts to become more inclusive.
