Zoe Pollock wins South of England Pentathlon Gold

While the rest of us were setting off for the first of our Christmas parties, u20 Oxford athlete Zoe Pollock, coached by Marcia and Ian Marriott, was winning the gold medal at the South of England Indoor athletic championships (December 16/17th) in the under 20 women’s pentathlon. In her first competition at this age group, Zoe saw off challenges from Woodford Green and Essex Ladies’ Amelia Macdonald and Reading’s Jasmine MacCullum to take gold with 3,637 points, including an 8.69s 60m hurdles, a PB in the high jump (1.55m) and a PB in the shot (9.71m). The hurdles time puts her 6th in the UK in 2017,  while her overall points total puts her 4th in the UK under 20 rankings. Well done Zoe – you have done the club proud!
