SEAA Cross Country Relays, Wormwood Scrubs, London Oct 19 2019

Not everyone was watching the rugby World Cup on Saturday

Oxford City U13 girls fielded two teams of cross country runners at the SEAA XC Relays at Wormwood Scrubs sports ground in west London. Everyone was up bright and early for the hour-plus trip and the weather conditions — bright and sunny– couldn’t have been much better for late October. There was an upward slope at the start of the course, which was fairly gentle until after the second turn when it all got pretty muddy, but all six girls gave it a great effort the entire way, facing stiff regional competition. They had smooth hand overs and worked together as a team, helping and supporting each other throughout.

We now await results, which should be available here:

Thanks to all the runners and their parents for taking the time to drive all the way to London and also to parents who helped to take the girls around the course, affix numbers, tie and tape spikes so they didn’t get stuck in the mud and, of course, join the cheering from the sidelines.
The two teams – Dominique Dunn, Payton Carter, Emma Paton, Kiera Williams, Emily Channon and Isabella Haines-Gray
