Wessex Match 4 Swindon – 16th July 2023
Β
Sunday saw a small but mighty team of four U17 OCAC Women make their way to Swindon for the final Wessex league match of the season. Conditions were not favourable with the wind against on the home straight and regular heavy downpours to contend with but this did not dampen the spirits or determination of Ellen Walker-Smith, Payton Carter, Scarlett Shorter and Flo Wootten. Flo got us off to a flying start with a pb in the 80 Hurdles taking second place. Scarlett came first in the A string 200 whilst Ellen came a close third in the B string. More great performances in the 100 with Scarlett coming second in the A string and Ellen first in the B string. Payton ran a strong 300 for second place whilst Flo placed second in the A string Long Jump with another pb and Ellen won the B string Long Jump. The perfect number of athletes for the 4 x 100 relay they finished off the day with a stylish third place. Much to be proud of.
