Marcia attended Matthew Arnold School and joined OLAC as a youngster. She won her first Great Britain International as a Pentathlete in Dresden, Germany in 1979 and gained further Internationals in 1980 and 1984 in Vittel, France and represented Great Britain at Heptathlon in Ames, France in 1986. Marcia continued in athletics as a coach and successfully coached a number of athletes to International level, including Yinka Idowu. After taking a break from coaching she is back at OCAC and has coached Jade O’Dowda to an English Schools heptathlon title and Tim Stephens to the English Schools senior Decathlon title.
