Wessex League Round 1 Quadkids Report
Published: 28 April 2022
OCAC’s Quadkids team got their outdoor season off to a flying start with match one of the Wessex League on Sunday 24th April. A full boys’ team saw some strong performances and PBs, with Michael Emmanuel and Angelo Jones ranking an impressive first and second overall. Dylan Healy also performed very well ranking fourth overall in his first outdoor competition for OCAC, and a special mention goes to Alaric Tuncer with his competition winning vortex throw of 28.84m. Overall, the boys finished in first place, 170 points ahead of Basingstoke in second place.
Fewer in numbers (but equally loud), the girls’ team also did well, with Tacita Kentish winning the 600m competition and finishing in 3rd place overall. A few PBs and some vast improvements were also spotted, so the winter training has obviously paid off! The girls finished in third place overall, just 10 points behind Basingstoke and 13 points behind the winners, Woking.Β Β
The combined team score of 1500 points means that OCAC Quadkids is currently leading the group, ahead of Basingstoke in second with 1332 points. The next match is scheduled for 29th May at Aldershot – let’s hope we can maintain our strong start!
